Few things are better than just rambling around in the city on a nice warm summery day.. Its always amazing what you’ll stumble upon. The many community gardens in the East Village are fun places to enjoy a wee glimpse nature just off the bustling streets.. I saw the most glorious roses in this one.
Also we found this renegade knitting project- yes knitting. Some candid folks apparently knitted around the railings outside this church. Seems strange, but hey, it was pretty…and fuzzy.

Among many of its other bizarre commuity feats are Nyc’s street fairs. You can never be sure when and when they will pop up and if it will be any fun to wander through them.. I found two awesome ones this weekend.. The one in Little Italy [they have more street fairs than anyone!] had this adorable band whose trumpet player was outstanding [shout out to trumpeters- Henry!]..
Right near my apartment, We stumbled on a Youth arts fair which besides having some neat little solar projects by neighborhood students and home baked chocolate chip cookies for $1.. Stage performances were taking place with kids from different Community centers in Manhattan and the Bronx. These kids were Break dancing -so epic. There were two girls in the crew even!
I love to see a lil’break dancing in the street….
