Marc the Marvelous..
Tuesday, July 6th, 2010When I saw this SS10 runway show [way back in September last year] I thought, as I always do, that Marc’s creation was stunning, gorgeous, and ahead of the curve… But what I didn’t know then is how an affection for this look would arise in me by leaps-and-bounds. In my mind, I am this character right now- meaning, I want to look like a Geisha-Mime from La strada in Ninja toe sandals every day this summer! I really do.. How does he do that?

Disappears
Monday, June 21st, 2010I went with my friend Amy [the foxy girl in the cash box photo below] to a show Saturday night at Union Pool.. and Wow, so happy I did.
The band was ‘Disappears’ out of Chicago who made some solid, percussive, polished yet gritty music with good-ol-fashioned punk-all-the-way live show. The lead singer [Brian Case] reminded me of a no fuss Descendants-style frontman [nostalgic], while the guitarist [Jonathan van Herik], well he was just fully riveting.

I totally adore this brand- PUNK ROYAL- whose proper title is ‘The Punk Royal collective of Copenhagen”. Their collection contains all the right classics/basics- with a bit of Punk silliness, Foxy intelligence & Good design. Its also a brand whose ‘About page’ endearingly begins with these lines-
“Our story the short version.
Our story starts with a giant leap around the world, followed with a crash and burn….”
