The ORTOLAN e-commerce site is up and this happy little animation is here to tell you all about it [..plus its kevin's voice-over debut, which is super special!]
My favorite item from the Ortolan collection [lovingly designed by Bethany Mallet] is this Swan pillow- its a big fluffy down pillow which I keep smack-dab in the middle of my sofa.
These are from my mom’s garden. It’s just a little snapshot of her daily pick. I’m 100% jealous, my daily Manhattan harvest is about 3-5 tomatoes right now. Sniff sniff (and a sad face) I miss having a yard.
Dwell and Eco Fabulous teamed up to create and auction off a 400 square foot home created of 90% reclaimed and organic components. The house was auctioned at the show to raise money for Habitat of Humanity LA- I donated a few Ortolan pieces for the kitchen. So green and sexy- I want them to do redesign my apartment next!
If inner city pressure has got your skin stressed, I suggest you make an appointment to see Jordana Mattioli at Dr. Adam Kolker’s office at 710 Park Ave in the city. Jordana creates amazing customized treatments with divine products that are non-comedogenic, fragrance , paraben and preservative-free. Her consultations are free, and she worked with me to create a simple skin care routine that keeps me lookin’ fresh, glowing, and rejuvenated.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the movie Brüno I would highly suggest you get on it. Sacha Baron Cohen makes some highly funny and totally uncomfortable situations, I have no idea how he can stay in character, he is redic! I love that the character of Brüno travels with the same luggage as me! I heart my white faux croco Alexander McQueen rolly so much, and so does Brüno- he travels with nearly a dozen of them!
I am going to my environmental/ fashion part by shopping for only organic clothing this fall such as these darling looks from John Patrick’s Fall 2009 line- ORGANIC. These looks all say “hot green mama” to me.
If you have not,I highly suggest you check out the movie “Piñero” , I loved seeing my neighborhood from the perspective of poet, playwright, actor, and criminal; Miguel Piñero.Bonus: Benjamin Bratt’s beard (and acting) is off the chain.
1)Live out my life’s purpose: Save the planet. (duh!) 2)Eat green veggies. 3)Laugh as often as possible. 4)Keep a dog as my sidekick. 5)Garlic. 6)Yoga. 7)Be indulgent, everyday if possible.
Green Drinks is a great once a month mixer for people who work in the environmental field. I have attended these events several times and I always meet cool new people that have great green products and services that interest me. There are groups meeting in cities all over the globe! The next meeting in New York City is this Wednesday July 15th, 6-10pm: at Tavern on the Green
Just a friendly reminder about toe cleavage, the proper etiquette is as follows: As per Manolo Blahnik “the secret of toe cleavage, a very important part of the sexuality of the shoe” is that “You must only show the first two cracks.” I disagree, I think if all your little toes have hot cleavage you should rock it!
My roommate dedicated himself painting a historically accurate and to scale 18′ x 30′ Navajo rug on our deck (check it in the background of my June 10th post)- and it looks beyond killer. I decided to do my geek green decorating with a few of these guys! This is recycling at its best, each chair is an old wine barrel, so hot.
I spied this eye cream yesterday when I was visiting my friend Sev Dickson, owner of Dickson hair shop. With ingredients like royal jelly and other natural botanicals this little gem is not just “for the boys”. It even doubles as a toning face mask! Pick one up and get your boyfriend a nice tight fade at: Dickson Hairshop 137 Allen Street, nyc www.dicksonhairshop.com
