Mara has a way with the realm usually designated for spirits only.. she wields her ethereal, signature textiles and weaves stories into sexy silhouettes and with exacting details, and this season was no exception. The Mayan/Mexican meets African tribal with a dash Hmong SS12 collection was a real stunner.. once again I left the show spellbound and wanting one of everything…

nick irwin did the hair -knotted ropey beehives with fabric intertwined- which was truly befitting and quite painterly

the models had painted black fingertips .. what a searingly dark but elegant touch
Mara is a master of print and this collection did not disappoint.. the geometric interlocking feathers, triangles and shards of color & contrast are all wielded with intention and a refined, guided eye.. the richest reds were omnipresent in this Fall collection and I loved the looks with layered sweaters and tassel-y/ropey bits as well.. excellent, and above all, inspired… as always!
